Wrightwood, CA (VVNG.com) — The search for 19-year-old Sophie Rayanne Edwards and Ethan Manzano came to a tragic end today after their death was discovered.
At around 3:15 pm on Tuesday, July 6, an emergency crew was dispatched to a vehicle along the Angels Crest Highway near Milemarker 72 in an area known as Vincent Gap. Rescue teams headed for a vehicle about 600-800 feet from the side and declared two crew members dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a broken 2007 Isuzu Ascender was found by search and rescue along with belongings from a missing couple. The vehicle was completely destroyed and placed deep in the community canyon east of the Lightwood community.
The young couple was reported missing after being last seen along Mile Marker 51 in the Angeles National Forest around 1:30 pm on Thursday.
